Tahoe Joes in San Luis Obispo

My top choice for lunch is Tahoe Joe’s soup/salad/sourdough lunch deal- endless servings for $8.99.I get the baby greens salad w/champagne vinaigrette & the chicken pot pie soup, over and over. Their rolls come warm & delicious.For dinner, expect higher prices, but high quality as well. I like the Joe’s steak with green beans & baked potato, with a baby greens salad. Appetizer: sometimes I dream about their nachos. The chips are warm, thin and crispy, and the nachos come out on a cast iron skillet. Yum!Dessert: their cheesecake is SO good!

We were in the area for our 49th wedding anniversary and decided to celebrate eating at Tahoe Joes in San Luis Obispo. Big disappointment, we ordered the twin petite fillets and split it as we always do in Fresno. The meal came on one plate and she asked what we wanted on our baked potato and I asked the server if she could split the potato and she said she couldn’t I had to. Then she put what we each wanted on our potato. After she left we had to split our own meat and green beans. As we took a bite of the potatoes and green beans they were cold the butter wouldn’t even melt. Our server came back and we told her and she was rude the way she said she would get us another one. The manager brought the new ones out and wasn’t very apologetic. Besides all that our fillets were full of fat. Worst dinner ever at Tahoe Joes and they didn’t even offer us a piece of cheesecake.

ATTENTION!!!! They charged 45.59 on my credit card, while I only put 45.00 on the Merchandise Copy!!!! I guess it's because the original amount is something .59$????? So they charged $0.59 more on my card????? GOOD JOB, GUYS!!!!!! I signed $45.00 but they did not follow!!!!! I don't know if I am the first one found that or that is pretty common in their business????

My favorite place for Prime Rib.

The food was good, especially for the price and my server went above and beyond, shout out to Leah!!! I will definitely be back.

The restaurant was half full, we had to wait to be seated, our waiter was very cordial and attentive. The mashed potatoes were cold, the chicken too dry. When we were leaving the restaurant several tables had dirty dishes waiting to be picked up. We had not been in this restaurant for a few years, it used to be our daughter's favorite. Not any more

Just had lunch in the bar area and Kim, the bartender/server was so wonderfully attentive to us..... she is a real improvement over the last servers that were there. Food was great and quick. I hope the improvements continue. We've been eating there for a few years and it is so pleasant now to be greeted by a friendly face. Kim is a keeper!

Had a great time at Tahoe Joe's got there early for lunch today. We were the first ones there and were serviced quickly. The food was what you expected. Will come here again in the future.

Service was slow. Food was definitely overpriced. I suspect that some of the stuff is frozen/made off-site. Small soda costs 3.29. This place reminds me of a restaurant that would be on a Gordon Ramsay show.

The service was great! The food was absolutely horrible, we had filet mignon and a lobster tail. I asked for Med rare, and recieved a "grey" completely over cooked steak, the lobster tail was so over cooked it was rubber and burnt! Either of us ate the lobster. They forgot our appetizer, so we received a piece of carrot cake "on the house". I told them both our meals were horrible and nothing was done about it. I will never go back.

Wanted the steak & eggs for brunch. Menu said “3 eggs your way”. I asked for scrambled eggs with ham and cheese. The kitchen refused to serve it with ham and cheese. What really grinds my gears is that they had omelets that you could modify, but the eggs modified in a steak and eggs meal was too much. Also, salad came with no ranch even though we asked for it. Dumb kitchen peculiarities will keep me from coming back. Food was ok. 3 out of 5, but the ridiculous kitchen rules dropped it to a 2 out of 5.

The restaurant is extraordinary and spacious, the menu was yummy and the prices were very fair. rapidly, efficient service and very affable waiters. Recommended.

Popular place to shop. Very busy around 4 and 5 pm. Friendly helpful staff. Parking lot can be hectic during busy times of day easier to use the back entryway. Drive friendly be curious wear a mask.

My first time there. A friend and I went for lunch. It was so good! I ordered the Citrus Chicken salad. It was delicious. Big enough for me to bring some home for dinner. Comparable in price to most places these days and our server was really sweet and personable. I will definitely be returning again. 👍👍

Took forever to get seated in a half full restaurant early evening. Obnoxious server that had few customer service skills.Shrimp appetizer was disgusting, old frozen package shrimps, poorly presented.Bread rolls microwaved to the point that I couldn’t touch them as they were so hot!!Took forever to get a second drink and food!!My half rack of ribs finally came out on a hot plate, but the food was stone cold and the rib fat had started to coagulate again!Tried the meat,.... disgusting old meat!Sent it back. Was inedible.Had the 805 Beer, tasted slightly off and had an odd odor. I’m guessing that they do not maintain the taps and lines very well, or very often.Was a terrible experience and not worthy of anyone’s money!This place is a bust if my experience is anything to go by!!There you go. Went for lunch. Service was horrible, even though restaurant didn’t have many customers. Our waitress ignored us. Was served our Artichoke and Spinach appetizer with the meal! Appetizer was cold, runny and watery. It’s obvious our waitress let the dip sit until it got cold, then brought it out right before the meal. Don’t go to Tahoe Joe’s! So many better places in town to go. I recommend 1865 Restaurant on Monterey Street.

Awesome filet mignon and lobster tail dinner. Great servers and awesome atmosphere if you're into the log cabin vibe.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. wish I could give less than one star. Our server didn't come for the longest time, we didn't even get out drinks until we had been at our table for 35 minutes. Even then, we only got our drinks because the hostess stepped up and got them for us. When our server finally appeared, he made us order again, then the manager came by and made us repeat our order a third time. Some of the worst service I've ever received. I expected then to at least comp our drinks or dessert after making us wait forever and repeat ourselves, but no, they charged us for everything. Will NEVER go back.

The food gets 4-5 stars. Service is always slow and you get forgotten if you have more than 2 people in your group. If you want drink refills easier to go to the bar and buy it instead of asking server

The best amazing steak I've had at a restaurant the waitress I had was incredibly sweet and helpful. The long islands are great too an amazing place to get a cocktail or a refreshing beverage with amazing food. Pretty good prices especially this area

Tahoe Joe's has friendly service. Our server named Summer is awesome. She is very attentive. My wife and I came over for lunch. The wood grilled chicken is great. We really enjoyed the pot pie soup !!!

Seriously the worst dining experience I've ever had in SLO. Slow service and found a hair entwined in our salad. The manager offered to give us a free dessert in response. That's all she really offered. They really didn't care. That is what is so scary. We didn't want dessert or any of our food after finding a hair entangled in our food. Gross. Their apathy made it so much worse. The Health Department needs to visit them. Don't take the risk.

Our servers were excellent very friendly, professional and concerned about our wants and needs. The food was FANTASTIC!

I got a baked potato and salad. Baked potato was cold. Waitress dropped off our food and never came back to ask about anything. We had to go find her to get refills. The place was not busy at all.

Great service and food. Amazing chicken tenders. Outstanding fries. Everything was amazing.

I had two appetizers. The calamari and the Spinach and Artichoke dip. The calamari was extremely greasy with lemon caper sauce that was split it had 1/3 water floating on the top and it was horribly seasoned. The spinach Artichoke dip has plenty of cheese and spinach, but, has NO seasoning it tastes like a cardboard box. The server was new but excellent in his attitude and work ethics. It is very pricey for sub-standarde fare.

Shrimp appetizer tasted like shrimp was old boxed microwaved ...you get the idea. Had eggs benegict. Eggs were overcooked, almost hard. Server was polite. I would not ever eat here again.

Poor and slow service waited to get greeted, and order taken. Prices ok till you get to the steaks, pretty high for quality of meat. The person who brought my meal and fixed my potato was the most attentive, like your steak prices the rest of your bar staff too high! I will not be back.

Poor service cold food big waste of money

We were stuck in traffic at san luis obispo. We decided to look for a restaurant. We happened to find Tahoe Joe's. We were seated very quickly and our server Dana helped us quickly. We ordered dinner for two and the appetizer showed up quickly (railroad camp shrimp) and it is delicious. Salad and soup(chicken pot pie) were delicious. The prime rib and Joe's steak were delicious followed by another delicious dessert (cheesecake). All of this on the dinner for two meal. Recommend highly for anyone that is hungry.

Been there 3 times. Like they say third times the charm. Prime rib was so tough that the knife couldn't cut it, it ripped it. Sirvice was really bad. All the waiter said was sorry bout that with a smile. Will never go back. Tell a friend

Awesome spot service was good but the steak oh yea the steak i guess they slow roast it for 19hrs and i gotta say one of the best steaks i have had. I will for sure be recommending this spot for their steak anyone in this area and loves steak stop by here and get u 1

Wasn't at all disappointed, wick service and the food is good though smaller menu. The wild berry shake is a great finisher.
